Maison & Objet 2022: Highlights and Photos

Maison & Objet is for interior enthusiasts what Comic Con is for geeks. Twice a year, in Paris, the who’s who of interior design flock to this event to see and be seen and to find out what’s hot (and what’s not) in home design. This year’s show did not disappoint, with plenty of new product launches and exciting trends to get hyped about. Here are just a few of our favorite things from Maison & Objet 2022.

Between the Digital and the Physical

This September edition of Maison & Objet explored the theme of “Meta sensible,” a concept that reconciles our need for a grounded, material world with our desire to escape into digital fantasy. This was evident in many of the products on display, which blended high-tech features with traditional craftsmanship and materials.

There were seven jam-packed halls to explore at this year’s show, each more impressive than the last.

  1. Smart Gift – provided a unique take on the gifting experience with practical and aesthetically pleasing products.
  2. Fashion Accessories – offered a range of decorative objects, including bags, jewelry, clothes, and more.
  3. Cook&Share – featured all things kitchen, from tableware and cooking utensils to appliances and food gifts.
  4. Home Accessories – was a veritable paradise for homebodies and interior designers, where you could find those finishing touches that make a house a home (including Displates, naturally).
  5. Home Linen, Fragrances, Craft – showcased rare pieces created by artisans.
  6. Today, Forever – featured an array of contemporary lifestyle products.
  7. Signature – brought together the industry’s most creative brands and designers.

Curious Objects

Objet De Curiosité was an exhibition room filled with natural wonders, vintage treasures, and one-of-a-kind objets d’art. Seashell and coral decor were on display, as well as Japanese porcelain from the XIX century and other antique curiosities.

Bright Colors

In the world of interior design, color is everything. And this year’s home decor objects did not disappoint on that front, with plenty of bold and bright hues to feast our eyes on. From electric blues to zesty oranges, we couldn’t get enough of all the vibrant colors on display!

Neon Lights

Once a staple of ‘80s discos and ‘90s basements, neon lights are making a serious comeback in the world of home decor. At this year’s Maison & Objet, we saw plenty of examples of how to incorporate this eye-catching trend into your space, from colorful neon signs to more subtle lamps and sculptures.

Crystal Glassware

The ultimate symbol of French luxury, glassware was out in full force at this year’s show. We saw everything from elegant wine glasses to quirky perfume bottles, and we fell in love with all of them!

Futuristic Vibes

Floral arrangements and iridescent LED lights – this September’s Maison & Objet was definitely not short on futuristic vibes. We loved seeing all the innovative ways that designers are pushing the boundaries of home design!

Abstract Shapes

Abstract shapes have dominated interior design and bring with them a unique and handmade quality that should be celebrated. The curved, the sculptural, and the geometric all caught our eye at this year’s show.

Book Covers

What was the saying? Don’t judge a book by its cover? Well, we say forget that! This year’s fair had some of the most beautiful book cover designs we’ve ever seen. From colorful patterns to minimalist designs, there was something for everyone.

Handmade Pieces

There’s something special about a piece of design that has been crafted by hand. It’s the perfect way to add a personal touch to your home and show your guests that you have an eye for detail. We saw plenty of examples of this at Maison & Objet, from hand-woven rugs to handmade ceramics.

Conceptual Designs

Conceptual designs are always a highlight of Maison & Objet, and this year was no exception. We saw plenty of incredible examples of how to incorporate the latest trends into your home, from bright and colorful kitchens to sleek and modern living rooms.

It’s a Wrap!

There was so much to see and do at this year’s Maison & Objet – we could go on forever! But that’s just a taste of what the fair had to offer. If you missed it, be sure to check out the M & O official website for more information on all the exhibitors and products.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s show! Stay tuned for more updates from the Displate team!
