NEW YORK — Though prom can be interesting for several superior college college students, the cost of dressing up can be demanding, but hundreds of adolescents in the Bronx have had that stress lifted.
As CBS2’s Nick Caloway reviews, they are going to get to rejoice the significant night for totally free.
Innumerable middle and large schoolers stopped by a prom store in the basement of the Promised Land Covenant Church to get outfitted for the major night.
“I feel superior. Yeah, I truly feel excellent. I truly feel great,” eighth grader Angel Millan stated.
There ended up hundreds of fits and dresses to pick from, all donated and all priced the exact: free of charge.
The Bronx District Attorney’s Office environment, together with Bronx Fashion Week, set alongside one another the prom shop, all about empowering young men and women.
“This is a lot more than just offering a garment,” said Flora Montes, with Bronx Style Week. “When you place on some thing, you truly feel very good about your self, your self-esteem, your confidence.”
The apparel may perhaps be no cost, but the students’ response: priceless.
“I observed a little something that, like, it fits me so well. And it truly is fairly. So yeah, I’m so happy,” eighth grader Margarita Capitia said.
Twelfth grader Ada Marie Burgos picked out two attire — 1 for prom and a single for graduation.
“I actually like it. And I want to say ‘thank you,'” she claimed.
After prom, college students can return the clothing so that a person else can put on them next year, or they can preserve them.
